ACSR

ACSR conductors are made up of concentrically stranded conductor with single or multiple layers of hard drawn 1350-H19 aluminium wire on galvanized steel wire core. The core can be single wire or stranded depending on the size of the conductor. The conductor is constructed from a solid steel core available in Class A, Class B or Class C galvanizing surrounded by aluminium stranding. Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the completed conductor with grease. The proportion of steel and aluminium in an ACSR conductor can be selected based on the mechanical strength and current carrying capacity demanded by each application. ACSR conductors offer high strength and conductivity as they combine the light weight and good conductivity property of aluminium with the high tensile strength and ruggedness of steel. These conductors have a favourable strength to weight ratio. They are preferred over other overhead conductors in line design because of their higher tensions, less sag, and longer span lengths properties. Gupta Power Infrastructure Limited can manufacture and supply ACSR on Non-Returnable wooden/steel reels or Returnable steel reels depending on customer’s requirement.
